The Kick off Meeting of the TransQST project took place on the 23rd and 24th of January 2017 in the city of Barcelona, and counted with the attendance of the representatives of the whole Consortium.
The new European five-year research project, Translational Quantitative Systems Toxicology to improve the understanding of the safety medicines (TransQST), was launched in January 2017 after several months of intense preparation. The project started to run with an intensive meeting in Barcelona that counted with the presence of about 60 participants and stakeholders from the 21 members of the Consortium, a compound of Academic Institutions, EFPIA Companies and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
The meeting started with the welcome of the Project Coordinator and the Project Leader, as well as a brief introduction of the Consortium, followed by the general overview of the project and short presentations from the WP leaders describing their specific objectives.
Two interesting workshops were held during the meeting aiming the whole scientific members to discuss on data, infrastructure, modeling approaches, multi-scale QST models, etc.
After two days of thorough interactive exercise of discussion on challenges, strategies and decision making, the meeting ended with the positive feeling that all the participants were fortified to commit with the TransQST project.
